RAD and Actility Partner Up to Facilitate LoRaWAN® Deployments

Press Release, Paris & Tel Aviv, 7 April 2021

RAD, the industry pioneer in Industrial IoT (IIoT) and Edge Computing solutions, and Actility, world leader in IoT connectivity solutions, announce a strategic partnership in order to facilitate deployment of IoT use cases for power, gas and water utilities, smart cities, transportation systems and many other verticals. The Partners agreed on technical and business cooperation and mutual promotion of the integrated RAD SecFlow Secure IIoT Gateway with LoRaWAN and Edge Computing and Actility’s ThingPark IoT platform.

RAD’s SecFlow, a 3-time IoT Evolution award winner, now allows seamless connection to Actility’s ThingPark® LoRaWAN® network servers.

IoT gateways use LoRaWAN® to connect smart devices to the cloud for data processing and management. With the trend toward edge computing for lower latency and higher availability, there is a rising demand for IIoT gateways  that support more than secure networking functionality. Such is RAD’s SecFlow’s unique offering, which includes onboard server functionality capable of hosting third-party containers.

A true “Swiss Army Knife”, the SecFlow combines functionalities that would typically require separate dedicated appliances in a single box. This is a much-appreciated feature among IoT project managers as it simplifies deployment and operations by reducing the number of devices and contributes to increased security.

Data collected from LoRa field sensors is backhauled over secured links into many of the major cloud IoT platforms connected to Actility’s ThingPark, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS IoT Core, PTC Thingworx, and others.

says Ilan Tevet, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at RAD

“We’re thrilled that RAD has become a Premium Actility Partner, RAD’s expertise in IIoT innovation, coupled with Actility’s advanced connectivity solutions portfolio will allow quicker and more secure deployments of LoRaWAN solutions across many IoT segments on all continents as well through common distributors and system integrators. We are currently deploying multiple private LoRaWAN networks in Europe, the US and Australia.”
