VIoT and Actility Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement, Deploying Nationwide LoRaWAN® IoT Network in Vietnam

VIoT Holding, a leader in smart urban and industrial park development in Vietnam, and Actility, the global pioneer in LPWAN industrial-grade connectivity solutions for IoT, have forged a strategic cooperation agreement to roll out a nationwide LoRaWAN® IoT network in Vietnam. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the country’s IoT development, facilitating widespread adoption of IoT technology across various sectors including smart cities, industrial zones, and urban infrastructure.

Accordingly, VIoT will deploy and operate the LoRaWAN® network nationwide, providing IoT connection services for enteprises and businesses in Vietnam. Actility will provide the ThingPark platform, including ThingPark Wireless – the world’s leading LoRaWAN network management platform, and ThingPark Enterprise – a comprehensive IoT connectivity platform. This partnership combines VIoT’s strengths in market and customer understanding in Vietnam with Actility’s experience and advanced technology, to bring comprehensive and effective IoT solutions to domestic businesses.

VIoT Technology has been at the forefront of IoT adoption in Vietnam – to be the first to deploy IoT smart-city applications with LoRaWAN®-powered streetlight and energy management projects since 2018. The company has since expanded its offerings to include smart metering, air-water-quality monitoring, smoke/flood monitoring etc. In 2023, VIoT was invested by Clime Capital – a low-carbon impact fund – to offer B2B customers IoT Light-as-a-Service where it will fund 100% light retrofit project and customer pay subcription fee for a period based on the amount of energy saved.  The partnership with Actility will further enhance VIoT’s capabilities, enabling the company to offer a comprehensive suite of IoT solutions to its customers in the near future.

Actility’s ThingPark Enterprise solution will play a crucial role in the deployment, operation, and maintenance of the LoRaWAN® network. This solution provides a scalable and versatile network infrastructure that can support a wide range of IoT devices and applications. Actility’s expertise in LPWAN technology will ensure that the network is highly reliable, secure, and efficient, making it suitable for a variety of use cases.

The nationwide LoRaWAN® network will have significant implications for various sectors in Vietnam. For instance, it will enable the efficient management of industrial zones, where energy consumption data can be collected and analyzed to optimize power distribution and reduce waste. The network will also support smart city initiatives, such as intelligent transportation systems and public safety monitoring. Additionally, the network will facilitate the development of new IoT applications, such as environmental monitoring and smart agriculture, which can improve the quality of life for citizens and enhance the country’s economic competitiveness.

The strategic cooperation agreement between VIoT and Actility marks an important step forward in developing IoT infrastructure in Vietnam.
