Press Release – Paris, France – October 20th, 2022
ThingPark Community, Actility’s portal providing its members with free-of charge access to the best LPWAN network management platform in the world – Actility’s ThingPark – for their non-profit use, is allowing anyone to build a global, long-range and low-power data network in an easy, cost-effective way.
But from now on, it brings members a substantial perk: connecting as many gateways as you need, provided free of charge to anyone.
First providing guidance on how to set up your first IoT LoRaWAN use case to show this powerful technology in action, the set-up comes with step-by-step instructions on how to use it, explaining you how to add devices, gateways, and create applications. It comes along with free online support, with documented hands-on labs.
The platform is pre-connected to all leading IoT Clouds such as Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Central, AWS IoT, Cumulocity, ThingWorx, SAP, Salesforce, IoThink, WMW, HERE Technologies, and many others.
Community Support forum
In support’s department continuous strive for wider support availability and increased customer satisfaction, we are bringing something new to our free Community platform. We are glad to announce the launch of our new Community Support Forum.
With time we expect that Community users will be able to find all the required information there instantly. Current ticket-based support is now being phased out and soon “Contact us” button in the Community portal UI will be replaced as well.
Stackexchange message board
For broader questions and discussion that go beyond the Community platform we are glad to introduce our “thingpark” tag on Stackexchange. Find us at https://iot.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/thingpark where you can participate and get informed on various technical points like how the end-to-end security is ensured on ThingPark, the role of LoRaWAN backhaul overheads over satellite or cellular, the functioning of over-the-air-updates and activation of devices, network roaming et much more.
Moreover, for those building IoT devices and apps, interoperability is a key success factor. That is why, from now on, we made the ThingPark Interop Engine accessible for free with your ThingPark Community account. With this testing tool, device manufacturers can easily validate interoperability and proper functioning of their devices with the LoRaWAN MAC connectivity layer.
This will allow you to get the ThingPark Connected label, to ensure easy adoption and reduce time to market, and increase your visibility among our community and ThingPark users across the world.
Whoever you are – a hardware or software developer, a system integrator, a vendor, a distributor, a consultant, or an academic – ThingPark Community is here to introduce you to LoRaWAN® and provide you with valuable online resources. With free access to ThingPark’s services, you will learn and experience LoRaWAN® from basic to advanced levels and develop your complete solution in no time!
Unlike other products and Open-Source solutions on the market, Actility provides you with an integrated suite of products and services to start working on the Internet of Things and building end-to-end solutions for yourself or for your customers, by integrating our LoRaWAN Network Server, hardware & support, and a whole set of open tools to build your next IoT application at low cost, making it ready to scale.
Actility provides the connectivity layer, powered by its Enterprise-grade LoRaWAN network server: ThingPark Enterprise. ThingPark Enterprise is the leading LoRaWAN private networking solution, managing over 35,000 commercial gateways worldwide. It streamlines your digital transformation, eliminating wiring for most sensors, enabling indoor/outdoor tracking and many other use cases.
This is why with a ThingPark Community account, you can transition to Discovery+ offer where you can get advanced support from Actility experts. And then, when you’ll need to scale up your project with a high Quality of Service, you’ll be able to seamlessly transition to ThingPark Enterprise paid offers.
All components of the network, including sensors, gateways and data routing are managed from a unique and easy-to-use user interface. The ThingPark Enterprise allows full flexibility for the choice of gateways or devices. It is also flexible, scalable and secure, allowing you to start with a Proof-of-concept and scale to full deployments. The platform is monitored 24/7 and all upgrades are fully managed by Actility without any disruption of service.

Radio coverage provided by a member of the ThingPark Community is also shared with the other members. ThingPark Community licenses form a global collaborative network, any device connected to any Community network may roam to any other one, if your device is under the coverage of any member, it can already reach the network server and your application even if you don’t have your own gateway anywhere near that device.
ThingPark Community portal provides free connectivity for the IoT Starter Kits, available in ThingPark Market. It also puts in light the role of ThingPark Exchange, which is interconnecting our enterprise networks and our community platform with Semtech Join Server.
Actility continues its effort to accelerate adoption of the industrial IoT by providing customers with a catalog of turnkey vertical IoT solutions they can quickly deploy on their sites to address concrete business problems. We invite you to check out us dedicated blog in order to get detailed insights about the various IoT solutions and their deployments.
Bringing such end-to-end IoT solutions to the market is critical for the common success of Actility and its partners: that is why Actility launched the Actility Ignite Partner Program, addressing our huge and growing partner ecosystem. This program aims at identifying, qualifying and selling relevant IoT solutions on major IoT verticals in order to accelerate industrial IoT adoption.
With ThingPark Community, Actility provides them with the required tools and resources to complete the integration of their product and services with ThingPark, with creation of decoders and application connections. Get onboard as a solution partner and join our community of devices manufacturers and applications providers which are already ThingPark Connected. ThingPark platform provides drivers capable of decoding uplinks for many popular device brands and comes with pre-integrated connectors for popular IoT cloud platforms, such as AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT and IoT Central, IBM Watson, ThingWorx.
“We are using TP Community extensively as part of our R&D work on LPWAN convergence. We love the way it exposes complex LoRaWAN features with a easy to use UI, and the openness to the ecosystem with comprehensive set of pre-integrated devices & gateways.”
said Philippe Chiu, co-CEO of Unabiz.
“Advantech is working alongside Actility on various IoT projects, and we are using ThingPark Community as a handy platform to test devices and LoRaWAN base stations.
