In 2015, LoRaWAN® technology began its journey with the publication of its first standard specification and the establishment of the LoRa Alliance. Since then, it has played a pivotal role in constructing the digital nervous system of our planet, complementing the digital brain, AI. In this new video series, we aim to showcase prominent figures and exemplary use cases to delve into the technology, its implementation, and deployments. With numerous advancements in this dynamic field, we’re excited to share some of the latest developments with you.

In this inaugural episode, Actility’s Co-Founder/CEO and LoRaWAN® co-inventor, Olivier Hersent, discusses device and network growth trends, new technical features, evolving utilization of existing ones, and accelerated adoption in specific sectors such as oil, gas, and mining. LoRa co-inventor and API-K CSO, Nicolas Sornin, provides insights into the past, present, and future of LoRaWAN®, along with his latest ventures. ThingPark Wireless & Enterprise Product Manager, Ramez Soss, introduces fundamental RF and network planning concepts, along with powerful tools to aid in this endeavor. Lastly, Sophie Maxwell, Executive Director of the Connected Conservation Foundation, demonstrates how they utilize their cutting-edge IoT deployment to preserve wildlife and contribute to environmental conservation. Hosting the program is Alper Yegin, CTO of Actility and Vice-Chair of the LoRa Alliance.
